caracter{\'{\i}}stica de afetar o desempenho, seguran{\c{c}}a e
efici{\^e}ncia de uma aeronave em opera{\c{c}}{\~a}o. Esta
pesquisa visa realizar inicialmente um estudo climatol{\'o}gico
da turbul{\^e}ncia de c{\'e}u claro a partir de dados de
reportes de aeronaves em voo objetivando elaborar an{\'a}lises
temporais, sazonais e espaciais do fen{\^o}meno nas regi{\~o}es
de informa{\c{c}}{\~a}o de voo de Curitiba e de
Bras{\'{\i}}lia.
indicador Ellrod II representou de forma significativa o
fen{\^o}meno perante o indicador Ellrod I que n{\~a}o obteve a
mesma relev{\^a}ncia em seus resultados. As

airspace, numerous aircraft in operation are often affected by
adverse weather conditions or phenomena, impacting on parameters
such as flight safety, fuel economy, delays in arrivals and
departures, passenger comfort etc. The occurrence of clear air
turbulence can be cited as an example of adverse meteorological
phenomenon that possesses the characteristic of affecting the
performance, safety and efficiency of aircraft in operation. This
research aims to initially conduct a climatological study of clear
air turbulence from data of reports of aircraft in flight with the
goal of developing temporal, seasonal and spatial analysis of the
phenomenon in the flight information region of Curitiba and
Brasilia. Promptly, a case of study is drawn from three clear of
severe air turbulence reports from aircraft reports using
turbulence indexes in order to verify which have the best
correlation to the case. For this purpose are used satellite
imagery, radiosonde data, weather charts SIGWX, wind charts,
altitude charts, forecasts the WRF model, turbulence rates and
aircraft records. The most frequently cases of CAT occurred
between the months of May and October, during fall/winter and
early spring, intensity of light and moderate, between the period
of 18 and 00 UTC, between 35 and 40 thousand feet of altitude and
its greater quantity in the FIR-CW. Given the turbulence indices
used in this study it was found that the Brown indicator was the
one witch best represented the turbulence. The Ellrod II indicator
represented significantly the phenomenon before the Ellrod I
indicator witch didnt have the same relevance in its results. The
information generated from this study will be used to improve the
prevention of occurrence of aircraft incidents, disseminate and
expand the understanding and comprehension of meteorological
phenomena applied to the field of aviation and provide greater
comfort and safety for society and for pilots in which make use of
air transport as a means of transportation or labor.",
